NOTES [50 words]: This refers to "King William." This would seem to mean William IV (reigned 1830-1837); the language is too modern for William III (reigned 1689-1702). Admittedly the song appears to have been collected just once, so it could have been modernized, But it doesn't feel like a seventeenth century song. - RBW
