NOTES [71 words]: This is so close to "Bold Reynard the Fox (Tallyho! Hark! Away!)" that I have to think them related -- indeed, I might have lumped them had not Roud split them. I incline to think "Bold Reynard" is older, since it's so much more widespread, but it appears this can be documented at an earlier date. It's just that it's about a specific person, and that person long dead and not very important, so it hasn't survived well. - RBW
