Song to Newcomers to Iraq
DESCRIPTION: "Now, to you who have just arrived, Listen to one who has survived: Don't volunteer for another year in Iraq, For they'll put you on the Grim." The singer describes the difficult conditions in Iraq, "And they'll say 'What luck! He's pure as muck.""

NOTES [59 words]: Ward-Jackson/Lucas-AirmansSongBook lists the tune of this as "My Sleepy Valley." The only song I've found with a similar name is "My Sleepy Valley Home" -- but that was recorded by Buddy Williams long after the likely date of composition for this poem (though before Ward-Jackson/Lucas-AirmansSongBook was published). Perhaps the tune was added later. - RBW
