NOTES [62 words]: Waziristan is a region in what is now Pakistan, on the Afghan border -- a region of ethnic conflicts and militants. The British used the same policy most colonizers, including the United States, have used to try to pacify the area: constant aggression with a lot of technology and not many boots on the ground. It didn't work any better in the 1920s than in the 2000s. - RBW
