NOTES [60 words]: Although included in Ryan/Small-HaulinRopeAndGaff, I do not see why they consider this a sealing song. The Ingraham was not a sealing steamer, and there was no sealing captain named Dicks/Dix any time close to 1909, when this poem was published.
It is curious that the poem mentions the rescue ship's name, but not the name of the schooner that was wrecked. - RBW
