For the two "Irish Sixty-Ninth" regiments in the Civil War (the 69th New York and 69th Pennsylvania), see "The Irish Sixty-Ninth" and "By the Hush." I can find no reference to a congressman named Dan McCann, but Google claims there is no comprehensive list of United States congressmen, so it's just possible there was one. If so, he didn't do anything that caught anyone's attention. - RBW
