NOTES [102 words]: The reference for Jesus turning water to wine at the Cana wedding is John 2:1-10. Jesus's birth in Bethlehem is in Matthew 2:1 and Luke 2:6. [There is, however, no Biblical reference to anyone drowning in the Jordan; indeed, apart from a few references to the Egyptians drowning in the Red Sea/Sea of Reeds, the only mentions of drowning in the Bible are metaphorical. - RBW]
The LomaxCD1712 recording includes the verse "Some say John was a Baptist Some say John was a Jew, I say John was a preacher And the Bible says so too." That verse floats and can be found in "Lonesome Valley" (I), among other songs. - BS
