NOTES [110 words]: According to Zion's Praises, D. Sankey is the owner of the copyright.
WITrinidadVillage02 follows the tune -- which sounds to me like "Mary Hamilton" [Child 173] -- and words in Zion's Praises , and follows the "Sankey into shout" hymn singing described in the notes to "Jesus Lover of My Soul." - BS
There is no question but that J. J. Mansfield wrote the text of this, but according to hymnary.org, there are at least three tunes, by W. A. Ogden, F. D. Barnes, and Thoro Harris. Ogden's is the most common, but given that the words cited here have drifted pretty far from the original, I would not bet on any particular recording using the Ogden tune. - RBW
