NOTES [100 words]: Hudson providing the "At the cross ...." chorus to the Isaac Watts hymn "Alas And Did My Savior Bleed." Hudson's hymn is still sung and recorded. However, as the Colton City Mission and Little Flock Spiritual Baptist Church recordings show, the chorus and tune may be sung with verses Watts did not write. The Colton City Mission verses use "glory to His name" as a both a verse and tag line; when used as a verse line the tag is "There to my heart was the blood applied." The Little Flock Spiritual Baptist Church verse is not like Colton City Mission's, but I can't make out many of the words. - BS
