NOTES [60 words]: Stone-SeaSongsAndBallads suggests that this was written around 1625, probably by Laurence Price, who has also been credited as the author of "Robin Hood's Golden Prize" [Child 147], "Love's Fierce Desire and Hope's of Recovery," and "The Seaman's Compass," although none of these attributions is firm and none of his songs seem to have done well in tradition. - RBW
