NOTES [81 words]: Ohrlin believed that Joe Cavanaugh made up this parody on the spot at a competition in 1954. (The original is "Rock Me to Sleep, Mother," by Elizabeth Akers Allen, and begins "Backward, turn backward, O Time, in your flight, Make me a child again, just for tonight"). This parody however is probably derived from "Cowboy Again for a Day." But while Cavanaugh's authorship is likely (meaning that this is not a folk song), it cannot be absolutely proved, so it goes into the Index. - RBW
