NOTES [56 words]: According to Fuld, Edmund L. Gruber wrote this song in 1907 for the Fifth Artillery Regiment, when portions of the regiment were reunited after a long separation. It was reportedly first printed in 1918, with an incorrect attribution to John Philip Sousa (perhaps based on the fact that he had created an arrangement for the song). - RBW
