NOTES [66 words]: Newman/Devlin-NeverWithoutASong thinks this is a humorous piece: Someone spent money on a fancy coat while wearing breeches so ratted that the knees showed through. I wonder. The coat comes from a tailor "Who lived upon the street." Instead of a proper tailor, might this not be another poor person who gave away or sold a ragged coat? No way to tell until someone can find the original version. - RBW
