NOTES [99 words]: There aren't many actual Biblical quotations in the Ira Cephas version of this, but it is heavy with allusions. God making the moon to rule the night and the sun to rule the day alludes to Genesis 1:16. Jesus turned water into wine in John, chapter 2. The verse about Joshua and the walls falling down is a reference to the destruction of Jericho in Joshua 6. The streets of gold gates of pearl may allude to chapter 21 of the Revelation to John, where the New Jerusalem has twelve gates, and according to Rev. 21:21 each gate is made of a single pearl and the street of the city is of gold. - RBW
