NOTES [125 words]: There was a 1966 television show, "It's About Time, It's About Space," which apparently was completely imbecilic: two astronauts, presumably from the Gemini program (since there are two of them and it's 1966) get sent back into a world with cavemen and dinosaurs. (Which, it should not need to be pointed out, never coexisted.) The theme song of this absurd production began, "It's about time, it's about space, It's about two men in the strangest place" (or some variant on that; people seem to remember it differently).
Odds are that that is the original and that the parodies here are just that, parodies. But they might be the original for all I can prove otherwise. But if the television show didn't originate the tune, it surely reinforced it. - RBW
