NOTES [68 words]: You really have to wonder what sort of child would remember THIS. When I read the first few lines, I expected the second half to be some way in which the student took revenge on the teacher. Not as given by Kane -- but it's interesting that there is a change in form in the middle. The first four lines are in standard ballad 4343 form, the last four seem to shift to 3333. A combination of two sources? - RBW
