NOTES [55 words]: According to Hubbard-BalladsAndSongsFromUtah's informant, this is a true story, composed to be sung at the dead girl's funeral. The bishop then excommunicated the composer. But no names are given. Since the composer is said to have rejoined the church in 1889, it evidently happened during the Mormon Church's polygamous period. - RBW
