NOTES [92 words]: Howson-SongsSunginSuffolk describes this as a combination of two music hall songs. The first, "At Nine O'Clock He Got the Sack," is probably by James W. Tate and was recorded by Maidie Scott in 1912 (Zonophone 855). The second part is the chorus from "We'll Wait Till the Work Comes Round," with lyrics by Gus Elen and music by Charles Cornell. It was recorded by Elen around 1906. It is Roud #V13400. The combination of the two was very likely created by singer Charlie Hancy, and it is the combination, not either individual song, which is indexed here.
