'The Kellas Peatfutherer' in the Elgin Courant and Courier of 24 March 1939, where it is said that the song was written by James Simpson from Mortlach about 1850 and was usually sung to the air of 'Muirlan' Willie'. The subject was Robert or Robbie Milne (1792-1870), a crofter at Newton of Kellas."
