A mob, in which a fisherwoman played a prominent part, turned back a cart carrying grain belonging to Charles and George Simpson, grain dealers in Fraserburgh, which was being taken to the harbour to be shipped on board the sloop Resolution at a time when popular feeling demanded that it should be kept for the local market. When Charles Simpson made a move to continue the attempt to ship the grain, he was pelted with mud and stones and pursued by the mob." - BS
