NOTES [59 words]: The alleged solution to this riddle is that the man who had no eyes actually had one eye, and saw a tree with two apples, of which he took one. Which I refuse to accept, because it violates the conditions of the riddle. A modern proposal has a sign on the tree that reads "Apples." Which almost works. Make the sign to be in braille, and it truly works. - RBW
