The Crofut Family, "Come Feed the Black Sow" (Piotr-Archive #670, recorded 09/17/2023)
NOTES [75 words]: This has a terrific tune, which can be done as either a four-part or an eight-part round, but I am quite sure it did not survive in tradition completely unnoticed from 1609 to 2023 (though Ravenscroft may have taken it from tradition in 1609). The Crofut family version does have some minor differences in words from Ravenscroft's text, though.
I did find one camp songbook that had it, so there may be a few young people who have heard it at camp. - RBW
