NOTES [84 words]: Although the Piotr-Archive version of this calls it by the tune name "Confidence," this is a minority tune, according to hymnody, org; there is no dominant tune for these words. The main scriptural citation is to Habakkuk 3:17-19, the reference to the Savior hiding the brightness of his face appears to be an allusion to Exodus 24, where Moses's face shone after conferring with God, so that he wore a veil while speaking with the Israelites. There are several New Testament allusions to this incident. - RBW
