Tramp on the Street

DESCRIPTION: ""Only a tramp, was Lazarus's sad fate, He who lad down at the rich man's gate.... They left him to die like a tramp on the street." "He was some mother's darling... Once he was fair and once he was young." Hearers should care for the poor.

NOTES [112 words]: Jesus's story of the rich man and Lazarus -- which, be it noted, was a warning, not a description of an actual event -- is found in Luke 16:19-31 (the Lazarus of John 11, 12 is unrelated).
Derek Piotr had two items he listed under the title "Tramp on the street": Frances Turbyfill (Campbell), "Tramp on the Street" (Piotr-Archive #148, recorded 04/25/2022) and Amy Michels, "Tramp on the Street" (Piotr-Archive #169, recorded 05/10/2022). Odds are that both are this. But neither is actually a recording of a song; both consist of this one line and a lot of hemming and hawing. This is not enough to establish identity, so I have not listed them among the recording. - RBW
