NOTES [44 words]: Abrahams-JumpRopeRhymes says this is a "parody of a rock-and-roll hit of 1958." I presume this is Bobby Darin's "Dream Lover." But Darin did not write "Dream Lover" until 1959, recording it in that same year. There are details on the song's history on Wikipedia. - RBW
