NOTES [115 words]: Both words and music of this are credited to Goff. It really feels as if it goes to the tune of (the chorus of) "Blessed Assurance," though: "This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long." I admit that this is not the printed tune.
According to Averill, Sigmund Spaeth was one of the judges who gave this an honorable mention in the 1941 Girl Scout song contest. Which makes one wonder how dreadful the other entries must have been.... The winner was "Girl Scouts Are We" ("Let us join our voices clear and strong, Scouts are we, Scouts are we, Of Sacajawea sing a song, Tell her deeds joyfully"" by John Rivenburg; it is on pp. 18-21 of GirlScouts-SingTogether. - RBW
